Dream Big Be Big!

Go for the whole Enchilada! You know the old saying, Go Big or Go Home. Reach for the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.

It sounds like a bunch of positive thinking. That’s just it, it is!

And whether you believe it or not it influences us.

I have talked before about the Ultra Marathon Runners. It really is Superhuman what some of these runners can do. So, I thought I was done with my research on that and totally loved these amazing feats these people would accomplish. It's ridiculous! Just how they would punish their bodies for hours and hours to run these Mega Marathons.

It Really Stretches Your Mind.

It doesn’t mean you have to do it too, however one thing you can do is use this as a metaphor for a different goal you are working on. Whatever that goal is, multiply it by 20 or 50. That can be your 100 mile race. Whenever I hear about these types of results I think to myself, ‘wow, I am putting too many limits on myself.’

Now… I just discovered a man who ran a 100 mile ultra marathon 100 days in a row. On top of that within that 100 days he also conducted 100 keynote speeches. Can you believe it?

Running 100 Miles everyday for 100 days is just crazy crazy!

This brings me to asking you what else would you like to really really do in your life that really has been wracking your brain? Most people won’t even do anything about it. It doesn’t even move them but for some people this is exciting as heck. What goal that maybe you have been working on can you now magnify and really totally push into yourself. Go beyond your own personal limits. Totally and completely collapse your time frames and kick the sh*t out of every day. Every single day. Now you know you have it in you to do that. To really really move it! Move it! Move it! So why haven't you? Why haven’t you taken yourself to task and just done it? You talk about it all the time. You tell your friends how you are going to do it.

Everyone has one goal that just knaws and knaws at them until they do it.

You tell your Family that you are going to do it. You tell everyone that you are going to do it. But you just haven’t done it. Now is the time to light a fire and dive into it. Now is the time to make it happen. Not just ‘going’ to make it happen. Not tomorrow. Because guess what. There is no tomorrow. When we get up there is only today. There is no tomorrow until we wake up the next day. So let's work on today. Everything you do today and everyday is going to affect you tomorrow and even 20 years from now. So why not start it today. Do only the things that are important to you. Because when you think about it, everyday is the same when you are working on a constant goal. You have your routine.

There is No Tomorrow

So now ask yourself why not? Why not just knock it out? Why not get up that hour earlier and make a full day of it? Why not put that extra push into it? You are going to do something with the time you have with the day anyways. Why not make it meaningful? Make it meaningful so you will not ever forget. So meaningful that someday when you are laying on the beach and reflecting on all your great things you can look back and really see what you created because you decided to. The key word is ‘decided’. All you have to do is decide now that you’ve got this. Decide now that you promise yourself you are going to be the best version of yourself. No matter what. No matter what happens. You are going from zero to dangerous!

Set the World on fire and then some. Make an impact on everyone you talk to. Make an extra effort in everything you do. Stop and really listen to what that stranger has to say. Ignore the loud chatter in the library and focus on finding that book you are looking for. Take that extra step or steps towards your main goal. Hang around more of the right people. Put more value into each conversation.

Hanging with the right people can gain you 10 years

We have 100 conversations a year that are detailed and important. Out of those 100 conversations there is 2 or 3 that are life changing. If we are open to it. If we are not open to it, we just do not hear it when it happens.

Take that trip you have been talking about. Go buy that bicycle you keep talking about and enjoy the trails you have around you. Go camping. Learn that new language. Not just a little bit. Learn it deeply.

Buy a new sweater to celebrate your decision. Be kind to your self.

We Have 100 Conversations a Year with 2 or 3 that are life altering

Find a new purpose where you can help people. Then help more people. Write that song. Write that book and then publish them both.

Take that workshop you have been eyeing. Create that workshop you would like to do. Get that new pair of shoes. Take a trip around the world. Phone your best friend and tell them how much they mean to you. Cook that big honking ham you were talking about and invite your neighbors. Paint that picture. Then paint another one. The more you paint, the more you paint. Go to that important function you have been thinking about. Smile at the next person you see. Go to that conference and enjoy the Sun while you are there.

Take up that most important goal that appears impossible. Buy your dream home. Buy that new revenue property and invest in your future. Go get your drivers license. Put $10 dollars on that horse race on Saturday. Find another way to make money and compound your financial security.

Do Something You Didn’t Think You Could Do

Be more of a risk taker. Go watch your favorite movie while you think about your next big move. Dive off a 100 foot cliff. Learn how to Skydive at 10,000 feet. Go on a Scuba Diving tour.

Find yourself a special tropical destination. Phone a friend you haven’t talked to in a long time. Pack some sandwiches and take a road trip. Go see your friend who is now retired on the beach in Mexico. Be authentic. Go take the Dale Carnegie Course. Make your lawn the greenest on the block. Go get a part time job. Wish everyone Merry Christmas 12 months a year. Buy yourself a Luxury Car.

Or something else you have been thinking of. Get to it. Take total action and pick up the pace. You know you want to do it. Why haven’t you? Why have you not just gone out and done it? Use the G.O.Y.A. formula. It's called get off your *ss!

There are just no excuses. Everything is a choice. Absolutely everything! You are either doing it or you are distracted. Don’t mistaken movement for productivity.

Our own microscopic view of ourselves creates small thinking

We don’t want to fake ourselves out by thinking about it. It takes all out massive massive action. That's right, it means moving your body too. Move your body. Move your brain. Get it moving. Talk about it and do it at the same time. What you talk about, you bring about. While you are acting on it. It even gets more fun as you see it come together. You start to see it coming together. The thing is as humans we examine ourselves through a microscope so we see some of the little things. Outside of that spectators standing on the sidelines watching us have more of a hawk eyes view. It looks really huge and grandiose what you are accomplishing to others. It actually looks astonishing. But you don’t see all that until someday you are on the beach and say

 ‘Wow did I do that?’

So Dream Big and Be Big. If it's your dream then it just doesn’t matter what other people think. You just have to decide to move into it.

Live your life, not someone else's!

Above all, be kind.

Put On Your Mind Beam

Your focus is really your time and attention put together to accomplish just about anything. It’s your mind beam. I used to think the term baby steps sounded so silly but when you think about it just tilting a little bit of effort into doing something starts it. Just a little bit of time and a little bit of attention to your purpose. Your hobby. Your project. Your marathon gets it all going. You take a calendar and put it on the wall and everytime you complete your activity on this project for the day you put a big green checkmark on that date. Every day as your inspiration deepens, you keep adding the checkmarks. Then you get on a roll and see how many days in a row you can go. All the lights are green and it becomes a part of you. That's why it doesn’t matter how you start. Just start.

Everyday Is A Brand New Day And Blank Page

When you get up in the morning, you do your basics. Eat, drink your coffee or juice, have a shower. Now you know you’ve got the survival stuff out of the way and that part is good for the day.

While you were eating, you started to think about your new discipline and some ideas start to pop up. So you write them down.

The fun part about our creativity is you never know what might come out of it, however you do it anyways. You often surprise yourself too.

You zone out for a while as you practice your craft and keep repeating some actions over and over. Meanwhile the ideas just keep coming.

Your own eternal mind beam. As you move through it, the ideas keep coming and you write them down. To use today and maybe another day. Any one of these ideas, if you use them, can take you on another deep dive down the rabbit whole. More ideas generate more ideas.

Just like the more you write, the more you write, the more you write.

So you just keep using your mind beam and focus your time and attention on building. Its incredible how much gets completed and accomplished over 3 months, a year, 5 years and so on. The exciting part to as you learn more about your self and your skillset, it becomes more and more refined. It really makes life exciting. One guy took this to heart and was a pilot.

It Really Is All About The Journey You Choose

When you are a Pilot you have a checklist you have to follow during take off and then there is a whole bunch of rules, regulations, disciplines you must follow in order to get your passengers or cargo, safe to the next destination. After a number of years doing that, he thought to himself, wow that was really interesting becoming a Pilot, what else do I want to accomplish using my skillset of learning? So he went on to study as a Lawyer for the next 6 years. He picked an area of specialization and practiced that for a number of years and became quite successful at it. Then, if you can believe it, he decided he wanted another change and wanted to impact more people on what he felt was a more meaningful vocation and went and became a Surgeon. That was another 8 years to become a full fledged operating Doctor and Surgeon.

So there you go. A Pilot, a Doctor and a Surgeon. That is quite the pedigree. Just imagine the satisfaction he felt and all the people he impacted.

He used his skill of learning to focus his time and attention somewhere along the way. Perhaps it was in his original schooling. It could have been in some sports he was playing. Maybe even Martial Arts or Yoga. With that he used the same skill to learn all 3 of his vocations.

Imagine how else this affected the rest of his life in other areas. When you have one high standard or area of excellence it tends to affect other areas.

How You Learn One Thing Is How You Learn Everything

So really, it comes down to what you really want, and you have to be clear on it. Your time and focus on it are the real variables to completing it. Time, after today, the day is gone. We don’t get anymore of it and they aren’t making anymore of it, so we have to use it wisely. Thats why its good every once in a while to just slow yourself down, take a notebook and a pen and just sit and reflect some afternoon. Write down new ideas, new inspirations or plans that just keep coming up in your mind. Very often there is some repeating thoughts in there that you can explore. Or maybe you have some other project or goal you want to work on and want to dive even deeper. That time alone is so precious. Most people can sit still for 15 minutes however if you really take time with yourself to allow your thinking to slow down you can capture some of your future on paper and keep building on it.

My desk is usally full of great ideas. I have posties and sticky notes all over the place. Every week I round them up and keep a running list of ideas. A lot of them don’t make it. But there is always a few in there that I can look back now on that were totally life shifting. Writing them down puts them in the minds eye. They sound great at the time and we never know where they might go until they pass the acid test. You wrestle and play with an idea and ask yourself ‘what if’.

Wouldn’t that be great if……..? What if I did it this way?

The ‘what if’ game is powerful. You stretch an idea to the max and after a few rounds if the idea is still standing, you know you’ve got something.

The most exciting and ongoing part is using this skill every day on your own goals. The feeling of satisfaction that comes from it is enormous. Especially when you can look back and say, ‘Wow I am so glad I did that.’

Do you feel lucky?

So what is your answer to that? You’re probably thinking about that line in that movie when I say that, but I mean in general do you feel lucky? Some people are so lucky that great things happen to them all the time. It just seems to be a continual process. Others not so lucky.

Your own luck gets created by all the activities around you, big and small, that lead you to your desired outcomes. If you continue performing these activities you know that sooner or later you are going to get what appears to get lucky. The law of averages and odds are in your favor when you go for the numbers. Sometimes though luck just shows up on your doorstep. It looks like no reason at all however when you take the time to look back you can see that it was something you maybe started to work on and got pretty excited about. Then you left it to the side when something else came up.

All The Little Things Add Up To Create Your Own Luck

Several months later this idea or goal you had just surfaced and showed up. When you focus on a goal long enough, sometimes parts of a goal shows up just to remind you that your thinking is in alignment and your brain is working towards that goal. It’s all about your clarity of your goal.

So now what do you think? Do you feel lucky? If you do, what is it now that you are focusing on. When I am intently focused on a certain goal I like to have images and photos of it all around me. We tend to think in pictures so it is a really great exercise to continuously looking at photos of your outcomes you wish for. If you carry it around with you it gets even better. Your conversations change a lot because you are continuously thinking about your goal. Some people even like to grab a stretch cord and hang their goal on their wrist. Big enough that you can’t ignore it and nor can anyone else. So you end up having conversations about it. That gives me chills just talking about it. Because, all of a sudden that is your main goal. You keep focusing on it. You put some life in it and then it starts to get exciting.

You think about it continuously. All day long as a matter of fact.

Just Step Into The Water And Begin

You even take it to sleep with you. It wakes you up in the middle of the night when you turn over because all of a sudden you feel this foreign object on your arm. You wake up and feel it and then go “oh ya, thats my vacation goal for 2 weeks of sunshine in the caribbean’ Then you fade back to sleep with a smile on your face. Wouldn’t that be great if it all comes together? It will too if you keep focusing on it and the activities you need to get there.

For some, certain goals, sound simple and easy and they just do the activities and arrive at their goal. For others its a struggle. It may be because of their struggle and current situation and they just have to dig a little deeper. However it is still attainable.

Taking Action Makes You Feel Instead of Trying to Feel Before You Take Action

On bigger goals you have to really adjust your mindset and get into it deeper and deeper. I mean how bad do you want it?

Sometimes when I would have conversations with my father, I would start complaining or making excuses of why it just wasn’t working. Why I just couldn’t get there. All the things that were happening that just kept stopping me from getting to my goal. He would then say to me. ‘ I guess you must like it’. Then I would say ‘What do you mean you guess I must like it’?  He said ‘I guess you must like it where you are’ then there would be the silence so I could think about what he just said. It was true to. I had no right complaining or making excuses or I would be more advanced in my goal. Then I wouldn’t be complaining right? He used to always catch me on that.

Who You Hang Around With Determines Your Elevation

Or if you are watching a sports athlete and he is just not operating up to his standards. We don’t know what kind of day he or she had and perhaps its just temporary the position they are in but somehow they figure it out and move themselves forward, today, tomorrow or next month because they just know they can perform better. Same with ourselves, not matter what we can always perform better. Always.

No matter how we look at it, we can always improve.

Our mind develops faster too when we are watching people achieving the goal we are after. It sees the image of people succeeding and basically says, ‘this is how you do it’. Our mind goes to work on showing us how we can accomplish this too. If you have you picture and vision in your mind, your mind helps to lay out a pattern for you to accomplish the pathway to get there.

So how about now? Do you feel lucky?

It really gets to be fun after a while. Testing yourself and pushing yourself to really move forward. As you do this you feel better and better about yourself. Those winning feelings stay with you. As they get emblazened into your neuropathways, you can recall them at anytime to help you on new goals.

Even right now, especially if you are reading this in the morning, take a moment and make a list of all the things you are grateful for in your life. It could be small things or big things. Just make a list of 10 things that you are grateful for. As you do this, you can feel yourself start to smile and feel even better. The happiness factor kicks in and you can feel the blood in your body circulating and the endorphine rush through your body, as you think of wonderful and beautiful moments in your life and gratefulness does its duty. Just the tiniest things can create feelings of success, joy, fun, passion, excitement, winning. It sets the tone for the day as you continue building and achieving new goals.

So….Do you feel lucky? Well do ya?

We Are Just A Spec In The Universe And A Drop In The Deep Blue Sea

We are so small but mighty. This morning I got up and pulled the Globe of the World in front of me. Just because. I have one on top of my fridge to remind me and put me into my place.

As I spun the globe around and let it slow down, I am looking where I live, which is Canada. We are really far north. Not compared to some of the Northern places that are hundreds of miles from us. It gets really remote up there. But as I look at the globe and all the countries I realize just how small I am. Living in a small community. And thinking again how big the world is. Sure, no matter we live, we can connect virtually to anywhere in the world but it is in no way the same as being in a Country thousands of miles from home and hundreds of miles from nowhere. If you have done that then you know what I am talking about. So in that sense we are really small, but we have access to really big things and ideals that we can chase and accomplish.

We Can Still Create And Do Very Big Things

When you travel to a foreign country, especially to one that doesn’t speak english, it can be a very scary journey until you get used to it. Then you return home to your own home and first step onto the ground you are so grateful for what you have.

Any new goal or destination can be scary when you first step into the unknown. You let your senses adjust, slowly get familiar with the new ground and territory and start to feel a bit comfortable. Not too comfortable. Just comfortable enough to feel your way around and feel like you are in semi-control of your senses and direction. Then you step back and take a look at the actions you took and it wasn't too bad you say to yourself. You were just in a new environment and you survived. Before long you thrived.

Its the same with anything we learn. It feels totally weird at first. Then it gets to be enjoyable and fun. You feel like you are achieving and creating something.

What We Can or Cannot Do, What We Consider Possible or Impossible, is Rarely a Function of Our True Capability. It is More Likely a Function of Our Beliefs About Who We Are

When you push yourself to the edge. To the total max you think you can go and then you look back. You realize you had no idea you could do that. It really looked impossible, but somehow you pulled it off.

You are left with a wholesome and easy confident feeling. Sometimes in awe of your own powers. ‘Damn! that was amazing!’ you say to yourself. You are thinking that all this time, you just didn’t think it was possible to do it and now here you are.

You start to think that, what else in my life have I been missing out on or haven’t really seen? What else might I consider impossible?

Its a new sense of found confidence that you discovered. It was there all along. You just had to acknowledge it.

Thats why its important to just start whatever it is that you have been thinking of accomplishing. Its really those little pieces that as you complete they just spur you on to more and more action. You can really pick your goal and make an obsession of taking proper and accurate action every day towards it. You own it. It's your goal and each day you lean into yourself more and more. Carving out what looks like and feels like your goal. Just the action of starting puts you in the game.

When I took the Dale Carnegie Class when there was a long distance runner in our class named Gail. Each morning she would get up at 4 oclock and go running. For 5 or 6 or 7 miles. Every day. That's how she started her day. This was my first exposure to hearing about Athletes that perform amazing feats and it

really blew my mind.

You have One Or Several Amazing Feats You Will Accomplish

Now they have these 100 Mile Ultra Marathons where runners run at the edge of death in the desert. It goes to show you the big gap of where you are now compared to the unlimited actions they take in running long distance. If you’re a long distance Ultra Marathon Athlete then I commend you.

It's just a matter of where you are now to an Ultra Marathon that you want to fit in. Running 10K races was it for me.

It really stretched my mind about new possibilities. I always felt that with all that physical and mental energy I took to run a race like that how can I transfer that into other areas in my life.

You probably have some areas of excellence in your life now that you are really good at. Something that perhaps comes naturally to you or something that you trained yourself to be highly skilled at. Its the psychology of it. You can use the same psychology to achieve something else in your life that is important to you. You just transfer your energy and focus.

You may already know what it is you would like to accomplish and perhaps have thought about it frequently. All you have to do is give yourself permission to move into it. Book the time off in your Calendar and begin. Start a new chapter in your life. Full of energy and confidence and peace of mind. It's a joyous experience when you begin something new. Along the way you  keep it exciting. It doesn’t even feel like it consumes your time. Because you enjoy it so much.

The newness of working on new projects and ideals keeps us fresh and grateful that we are using our talent and creativity and feeling so

purposeful. It's the activities that we get lost in. Its a sense of timelessness, that you don’t even notice the clock.

So you keep going to the wee hours of the morning thinking tomorrow is another day. Sometimes when you come back to it, you look at it and amaze yourself. How the heck did I figure that out? Did I actually do that?

It's because you were tapped right into your creative subconscious…

So you exercise it some more. Stretch your mind to create new ideas while you work on these projects or hobbies that you have discovered. It gets better and better too as you tap into it.

It might look like we are just a spec in the universe or just a drop in the deep blue sea but we are a part of it and our thoughts are real forces..

Hide or Seek it out

It's good to dive right in and put yourself out there instead of hiding from your goals.

So many dreams are never discovered. Lost in the sands of time.

Last night out for a walk in the warm evening as I was going through a park area I hear a kid say, ‘Ready when you are come and find me.’

Then there was the dad that ran to hide behind a tree. There was a few more right after that. Then I realized there was a whole family playing a game of ‘Hide and Seek.’  I was actually stunned. It just sent me right back to my childhood. When is the last time you saw something like that. A family out in the almost dark playing tag. Actually having fun. Yes. Key phrase. Having Fun! When is the last time you did that?

So much fun. Like rolling on the floor fun because you just can't stop laughing kind of fun. I can’t remember either.

Sometimes you just gotta laugh just because

I mean let's not get too serious. Anyone should stop at times and have fun. It's just the human like thing to do.

That breaks things up and allows you to come back to your natural self and look at things a different way. It breaks things up and gives you a clearer perception. It allows you to tackle life from a different angle. Maybe even from an angle that you never observed before.

I guess that's why everyone likes Friday. Its the end of the week and

after work you can kick back and reflect and laugh about things too.

Its over. The week is over and the weekend is here.

I think you can laugh and still accomplish your goals along the way just as easily. So why not kick back and throw a few jokes in there.

Its easier to be more open when you like to laugh and its also easier to be open to achieving your goals in different ways while you seek it out. The opposite of that is to be just too stiff, not laugh, not have any goals and just let life pass you by. Which is what most people like to do.

Some People Just Like To Watch the Fun Go By

It's that state of mind thing. The better state you are in, the easier it gets and more rewarding it is pursuing your goal. It's a joyous feeling. When you look in the mirror before you put your head down at night you’re the only one that knows if it was a full and complete day. You did it.

You had fun, you laughed and you still found time for the areas of your life that was important.

What happens when you are having fun pursuing your goals is, you start to see other people having fun. Sometimes you discover they are laughing at the same thing you are.

So what makes you laugh? What's got your attention that you can’t help but not smile and burst out laughing. For some people its different. For others it's the same thing over and over because they have their thinking anchored or triggered to laughing. For some people its a nervous laugh but can quickly turn into complete uncontrollable hysterical laughing.

Some people like to even start their day at 5 oclock in the morning and watch a comedy. It primes their whole day. What would it be like for you to laugh yourself all the way to the bank as you excel in your career or vocation.

What if you came to work laughing every day

Its all about your state of mind really as you pursue your goals and future achievements. That's why when you really get your body physically moving in the morning it just gets your momentum moving and your brain thinking.  I notice too that if I wait until the afternoon to go to the gym or to get my walking in it makes a difference, but not the same as first thing in the morning. First thing in the morning lets you carry the excitement for the rest of the day while you complete all your tasks and objectives.

The reason I talk about laughing is, personally it's always easier to work on what's important to you if you keep your sense of humour about you. Sometimes I even catch myself being way way to serious when I’m focused on something. What's even crazier is if something funny or off the wall happens and just cracks me up. Then I realize just how serious I was being. Omgosh like come on.

For instance a friend of mine just showed me a video of my generation a few years ago when we were having fun. I couldn’t believe I could still laugh that hard. Now if I hear any dialogue at all of that video, it just cracks me up. Instantly. Just like that.

Even if you ever went to a comedy club when you didn’t feel like it. It doesn’t take long to get in the mood for laughing. The comedian cracks a few funny jokes. Sooner or later one of those jokes puts the crowd into a totally laughing state. How do you not laugh when you are right in the middle of the crowd. You just can’t help it.

It's part of your lifestyle too, how much fun you really want to have.

The environment you are in. The people you are around. The sounds you are listening to. What you are focused on.

How about having Fun and Making Money? How about that? How much better does it get? The two really go good together. A lot of people do that too. They make so much money they have to weigh it and they just can’t stop laughing about that. I think I would.

So while you are seeking out your goal, have as much fun with it as you can. Try not to take yourself too seriously. Inject a little humor into your life. For yourself and the people around you. It makes it so much easier.

Walk Your Talk or Stay Out of the Ring

There is just too many messages. What if I told you from the time we get up to the time we go to sleep we get somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 messages. Everything is a message.

Thats why I like first thing in the morning. Late at night too, but the real cream of the crop starts first thing in the morning. Ideas come from everywhere. When you start developing your mind to really receive the ideas flow even more at such velocity. Thats why its good for you to know what is really important to you. When you know what is important to you, you actually feel happier, because you are working on the things that really count. Everything else after that is happier. Feel happier, walk happier, talk happier, see happier, hear happier, smile happier and the list goes on and on. I mean, I remember a day when there was no such thing as the internet and you would take out a pen and a piece of paper and work out your challenges on paper until you figured it out. Then you might go down to the nearest library to find a book on the subject. Models of success were around but not as plentiful as they are now. They were scattered all around the world. Now you can just plug right in to your favorite hero and see what they suggest.

Maybe its too easy

Thats why its important to really know what outcomes you are seeking.

Its great to talk about your goals too, because what you talk about, you bring about. Just like negative energy can infect the whole room, positive thinking energy and expression passes through a crowd so fast.

I mean i’ve met people who can brighten up a whole room. By leaving it that is. You feel it the moment they have exited the room. Your proximity group. The 5 or 6 people that you talk to everyday or are hanging around dramatically affect and influence you. Now I’m not trying to make you paranoid but just hanging around the wrong people can alter your whole direction. You almost don’t have to have a converstion with people like this because you wouldn’t get a chance anyways since all they do is talk. Just being in the same room affects you. When you leave, even though you havent really spoken to them, you feel like you still need to take a shower.

So be nice to yourself and focus on whats important to you. Doing this will invoke your sense of freedom and all the great things that go with that.

Join some groups that make you stretch and have some fun, with the feeling that you are contributing and making a difference. I know people that grew up in a small town, but went to the big city for a while. Thats the best thing because, be having experience in the big world, it changes your thinking. Their Small town exposure then going to the big city of experience gives them more insight. The small town thinking people will always be small town thinkers and stay where its safe.

If you have your goals and ideals in front of you daily, you will find eventually they permeate your soul. So eventually you put up or shut up.

You walk your talk or you get out of the ring..

Thats the acid test, how bad do you want it

Instead of carrying a goal around forever, isn’t it better to take some action immediately to find out now if its really what you want. I used to carry around a list so long that it would take me 3 days to read it, to discover what I was going to accomplish next. It would totally exhaust me.

All you have to do is pick one goal or target that excites you and decide you are going to all of yourself into it. That would be your major purpose. The other goals will follow along with you. When you have the most important goal in front of you daily, the other goals on the list get caught up in the momentum. Along the way you, fit one in here and complete it, you complete another one in a few weeks. A lot of times without even knowing it. Next thing you know, 3 months has gone by and you are just soaring with your major purpose and you look at your whole list and you see there are maybe 5 or 6 others that you have accomplished. Its important to focus on your main goal and if you find out at the beginning, it just isn’t important then you just trash it. Move on to something that has more meaning to you. That really excites you. Hour by hour. Day by day. As your inspiration deepens and your discipline sharpens you will find that the world is not just made up of stones and timber. Your goal is a living thing. You put your whole heart and soul into it. The daily discipline spills over and affects other areas of your life too. It just gets better and better. If you just start with one goal and make it your discipline you are ahead off 99 percent of the population out there.

Then later you can reward  yourself. Take a trip like maybe a couples  weeks on the beach or a hike in the forest then up the mountain. While away you can look back and reflect on your accomplishments. Its an amazing sight and feeling when you do it that way too. You totally detach from you life for a few weeks or a few months and see what you have done. You feel it. What you are creating are extraordinary results. Way above average. A lot of times, way beyond what you ever imagined.

Those Feelings You Remember

Experiences like this impress your whole being and way of life. As you keep stacking these experiences they keep getting richer and richer because you are paying attention to them. Paying attention to the feeling it gives you. Richer and richer and richer.

Whether you have got a new plan to build a model of a new wheelbarrel or a record setting World Skyscraper, it is still the same method. You are using your mind to develop and capture ideas help you accomplish the task.

The time in the quiet hours you spent reflecting, taking notes as they came along and going into the detail.

Really creating a vision in your mind of the final product when the last brick and concrete has been laid.

It keeps getting better too. You start on another project and it develops in your mind as you work on it. Your next masterpiece is starting to take shape.

Thoughts are things. The next time you start on a project that is really important to you remember that your thinking now of how you see it develops as you go. What you think now and what you are thinking 3 months from now will be much more grandiose than your original plan.

So you keep building on your dream. Keep taking action. Nothing can

replace the act of action. You see immediate results and it spurs you on to even greater success.

So what is it for you. What is the all encompassing desire you have that you really realliy want to accomplish? More that anything else. Something that you have thought of for such a long long time it is totally permeated in your mind, body and soul. Its time to walk your talk. Make it happen.

Even just take one step today. Buy a notebook you can use for the project.

Make a phone call. Register the new company. Start writing the outline. Make an illustration. See what I mean? Just take action on one thing so you can say to yourself, ‘This is the day I started’. Then repeat it tomorrow and keep the momentum going. You will be astonished how quickly it can come together for you. The feeling of accomplishment is incredible.

Ask anyways

In a conversation someone once said to me, Anyone can have anything they want if they are willing to ask 1000 people. Very often this conversation would come to my mind. Asking is important. We all ask for things every day. By asking or requesting or even in the slightest conversation. ‘Can you pass the stapler please.’ So its really not that complicated. ‘Sometimes we have to ask’ I was even reminded the other day, so why not ask. Especially if we don’t know the answer.

In your wildest dreams, what is the one thing you desire more than anything else? If already had or accomplished this then you wouldn’t have to be asking anymore. The thing is most people do not know what they really want anyways. Very often it is easier for someone to help someone else with their dream than it is with the person desiring it. So why not ask, right? Go ahead and ask anyways.

I have ask several times and actually been embarrassed that I even did ask. ‘Wow, that was stupid I said to myself. I don’t even know why I asked.’

But then it gets easier as you keep asking. Do you sound needy? absolutely not. It is perfectly human to ask. Think about the advertising. Especially the big advertisers. They are asking for your money every day to buy their goods or services. And they ask several several times a day.

So what do you want anyways? Have you asked yourself lately?

When you ask if you don’t get a reply or someone blows you off even though they could have said yes and helped you, its usually because they are so wrapped up in their life, with the drama that is going on that they just  don’t hear you. So why don’t we all ask each other. Ask and ask and ask some more. Communicate more with each other. If you can’t help the other person with their request then offer some advice as to how they might achieve their request. If you did that, then you would be helping them. If you keep on asking people about what you are desiring to have, be or do sooner or later someone is going to say…’Well lets see how we could figure that out for you, have you got a few minutes, ill grab my paper and pen.’ Wouldn’t that blow your mind. The fact of the matter is, it happens everyday. People have major breakthroughs, with their thoughts and ideas. They think, ‘oh I should take to Betty, I know i havent seen her in a long time but maybe she can help me with my answer’. If you keep asking in your mind ‘how can I accomplish this?’ then sooner or later answers present themselves. Circumstances happen, events take place, people show up in your life, new conversations. Five minutes ago it was never a prediction you could of made. It just happened. So keep asking.

Once you start thought keep going. When you ask, it changes you brain chemistry with what is possible. When you finally come up with a solution it changes your brain chemistry about what is possible. It gives you a clearer vision of the future. It tells you that yes, its possible and its your turn. All the lights are green and this is happening. It gets you even more excited about the future.  How exciting is that?

So what is important to you at this time in your life? What has got you turned on and fired up? What is one of the most important things that you keep thinking of and maybe haven’t asked yet on how you could obtain it.

What about your own thinking and asking yourself. Have you taken the time to just sit and ponder and reflect as you ask yourself, ‘How can I….?’

Many times too when you look back and reflect on life and times when you were trying to solve something, you realize that you eventually did solve it.

What about this, have you ever been thinking about someone you knew and all of a sudden they show up back in your life. They all you and you say ‘hey, I was just thinking of you’. That is the power of your mind working for you. Thats why its important to ask. For anything! One conversation can change the trajectory of  your whole life. In an instant.

So going back to the thinking and reflecting we were talking about. If you take a few minutes every day. It could be 5 or 10 minutes. It could be 20 or 60 plus minutes. Think about with feeling in your mind how fantastic it would feel just to have your goal. Make lists of different things you would like. Feeling is the key here. The more you ask in your mind with detail and feeling, the easier for your goal to move closer too you. You’ve got to

F-e-e-e-e-e-l. Feel your goal inside you. Feel it existing in your own mind and in your heart. That is how you ask your internal soul. Again and again.

Sometimes instantaneously, things will materialize for you. Other times, it will show up partially. Small things will happen to confirm your goal and you are on the right track.

I will give you an example ( use phone at seminar)

Going back to basics like we were talking about at the beginning, even if you start with conversations daily with like minded and open minded people. You could start by asking them how their life is going and what do they wish for or what is it that they are working towards. Then somewhere in the conversation, if they haven’t already asked you, say hey do you mind if I tell you what I am working towards? That opens it all up and if they have time to listen you paint your picture to them of what you wish for.

Instead of taking this as another read, really think about what you just read here. Come back to it, or just make a note in your calendar or your day planner to make some time just for you. Just to really think about your future. Even if is just one thing you want to create in your life. Maybe its that dream vacation you have been thinking about pick a destination of where you want to go and maybe pick up your favorite travel book. If it is that job promotion, make a list of what your ultimate promotion would look like and actions you need to take. Take time for you and your loved ones. You’ll be glad you did.

Why it's a good time to chuck it!

Jim Sapara

Its very unusual when sometimes the universe takes a shot at us and gives us a suttle reminder that we really should rid of things that we no longer require in our life or no longer associate with the current group of people we are around.

Better yet, if we don't comply, life then has a real hard core way of reminding us. It's called, 'shit happens. In a big way that is. If you don't remind yourself, then it reminds you. Sometimes it could be a few little hints along the way. Just to say hey check this out. Then maybe a few more little hints. Then if you don't act....Bam! some big huge and dramatic incident happens. Maybe its a death of someone close to you. A loss of a great job. Maybe its a personal challenge one of your friends is having and you really feel for them. It is just something usually that stops you in your tracks, so you can take another look at what is really going on in your life and what is important to you.

So we make an adjustment. If our current major goal is important enough for you then you take this incident that happened in your life, you deal with it, and continue on with your major goal. You don't allow yourself to become distracted. You are conscious and aware of what is around you but thats it. You stay focused. Really when you think about it there are only 2 states that we operate in. We are either focused or we are distracted. You cannot be both at once. The same as Angry and Enthusiastic. You cannot be in both states at the same time. Especially, when you are focused on your goal. You do not accept any distractions.

The more focused you become the less some other areas of your life matter. Not because you are ignorant, its just that when you own that goal and you have a picture everyday in your mind of what it looks like, you start to make changes in your life in other areas because some of those things you realize are energy suckers. Not all of them of course, however because you are focused, a lot of activities do get put aside in the quest for reaching your goal.

That is why being grateful is one of the most amazing states we can be in as much of the time possible. When you are grateful for everything around you it brings into play so many great emotions. It really makes us feel life. Feel the rich conversations we are having everyday. Feel the energy of the people around us. Feel the great thoughts that we are having and then almost exponentially we feel for all the great things around us. I mean what else is there right? That is what life is about. Experiencing life at its fullest, being joyous, fun and rewarding. Doing the things that count. It's amazing how confident you can feel when you are working on the things that really count.

Sadly most people do not even give there own thoughts the time of day. They are unconsciously unaware. You know what though? At any given time you can re-set the clock and start over. Just say, okay thats it. I am having a new start. I am going back to my natural self where life was such a joy and I had a lot of friends. And you just start right there.

You can start some new activities. Even go back to some of those things that used to bring you joy. Start to feel life around you once again. Make some time for yourself. Even an hour a day where you can think about some ideas or things that would be fun to do. Places you still havent gone to or would still like to go. People you would like to meet. Clubs or groups you would like to join. Specific conversations you would like to have with someone that you have being playing in your head over and over. Or maybe you just want to sit in your space for an hour and watch the morning or evening sunset while you drink your coffee. Read that book you have been putting off, even better yet, that list of books on Amazon you have been carrying around forever. I just saw a quote the other day and laughed 'Sometimes, you just have to take some time and lay on the couch and read books for 2 years.' I wonder if anyone has ever done that.

Or just sit there and wonder. Its the time you can take by yourself to just be. Be grateful for how your life has turned out. Be grateful for everything around you. Be grateful that you have taken the time with yourself in the quiet zone.

It can feel strange at first, but if you take the time to slow things down and just listen to yourself I know you would be amazed. The more time you spend with yourself the better you feel because you start remember how fun your life has been. Also, if you really don't think it has been fun, you can now start to make it fun. Besides, the past is over. Its behind us now.

When stuff happens in our life that we really arent to excited about, its easy to look over our shouder and behind us. It's also important to not always be looking over your shoulder unless thats the direction you want to go. We need to be present in our life to really enjoy it however it is also important to have a vision or picture of what we want.

The more you can be specific about what you want as your current goal which is of course in the future the easier it is to get closer to it every day. The World does not care either what you want. It doesn't matter what your intentions are. How committed you think you are. What you want or what you don't want. It is your goal and you own it. Everyday you take your hard core actions toward your goal. Everyday you can feel it. Everyday you work on it and visualize it in your minds eye. Because now is the time. You have made your move. Now the World has to come to you. You don't have to beg, grovel and slide through life. Nobody gives a f*ck anyways because they are so caught up and micro focused on themselves with their head thinking about their problems and how unfair everything is.

Its about you. Its about your goal. You own it!!

Then it comes down to how bad you want it. So bad! Real Bad! You want it so bad

that you are willling to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Because its your turn and you deserve it.

Take the time to get under yourself. Around yourself.Make time with yourself. Become reacquainted with yourself again! Remember, you are worth it!

I mean when we get up every morning, all we have is today right? There is no promise of the future so we have to take actions everyday so that life can be even more fun and rewarding in the future. And we need something to look forward to right?

Why not make it your day to paint a new mosaic of your future. To leave behind all the crap that likes to cling on. Just move ahead confidently, take some actions everyday, be grateful for who you are and enjoy the process new things show up in your life, richer conversations, people you never thought you would meet. It is just incredible what can unfold in your life withing 3 months from now, a year from now, 5 years from now, as you do a few things each day that are important to you.

Be the Architect of your Impossible Dream

One of the best examples I can think of was a hypnotist I used to watch. Going to his show for the first time when I was 12 years old and his name was Reveen. ‘The Man They Call Reveen’. was the way they used to advertise him. The all powerful Reveen! He was amazing. I saw him a total of 5 times before he passed on his business to his Son. To me that was real magic. The first time we were sitting in the audience he asked all of us in the audience to put our hands together and to close our eyes. So everyone did. At least it seemed like everyone did. The lights were dimmed and we closed our eyes and every person clasped their hands together.

‘Listen only to my voice’ he said

Reveen went into a whole bunch of verbal hypnotic lines like ‘Now you are hearing my voice, listen to my voice and no one else's voice. As you listen to my voice you are going deeper and deeper into a trance. Just relax more and more and listen to my voice and only my voice’ that kind of thing. And as we are sitting there quietly listening he then gives us further instructions on keeping our hands very very tight. ‘As you keep your hands together very very tight I want you to think about how your hands are welded together and hold them tighter and tighter and keep listening to my voice and only my voice. Then when I count to 3, I want you to open your eyes and since you cannot get your hands apart then you are going to come up and see me on stage’ Then that is exactly what happened. I was with some friends, there were a bunch of us and my friend David had asked me to come along with his family to see the show. One of their friends' names was Sylvia, was with us and sure enough she could not get her hands apart. The crazy part was she was sitting right beside me. She was crying and really upset because no matter how  hard she struggled she just couldn’t get her hands apart. So she went up on stage. The process then when you went up on stage was for Reveen to take each person individually and he decided on the spot if you were in full hypnosis or just partially. Of the total audience of 2500 there were about 200 that had their hands together and just could not take them apart. He would look each person in the eye, give their hand a shake so their glued hands fell apart and then point them in the direction he would like them to go. He would point them towards the seats that were set up on stage or he would point them towards the stairs to exit and go back to their seats.

After all of that which took a little bit of time there was about 30 candidates left and they would all be sitting on the seats eagerly waiting for their next assignment. Then sort of the same kind of format happened where of the 30 people in the chairs Reveen would have them all sit upright in their chairs, the lights would go down as he asked them to close their eyes. He went into this time a longer and longer dialogue of hypnotic suggestion. He would tell them things like they are having a very very good rest with their eyes closed and that he was going to give them some more suggestions and that they would welcome his suggestions  and to listen to his voice and only his voice  and on and on. He told them that while they were under his hypnotic suggestion they were going to go deeper and deeper into trance. Deeper and deeper. While they were in under his spell and deep trance they were going to listen for and follow all the instructions he would give them. Then he would go over and touch an individual on the shoulder and say ‘by touching your shoulder I am instructing you too’....

Then they all started dancing

And then he would give that specific instruction. He told him that he wanted him to be the very best Orchestra Symphony Instructor that ever lived. He told him that once classical music started that his audience was his Orchestra, that they were all playing the loudest and biggest and most amazing piece of classical music that has ever been played and that he was making complete history that generations upon generations would forever learn about. Within a few minutes after the hypnotic suggestions, the classical music would begin as the man would stand up for a bow, walk out to what appeared to be his members with all their instruments and begin giving them instructions. He continued on as Reveen went to the next subject. For the next one he explained to him that upon Reveen awaking him that he would recognize that he was one of the greatest architects and sculptors and that one of his foremost projects was to build a Monumental Masterpiece of a sandcastle on the exit stairs. He would build it so big and with such great pride that it would take up the whole stairwell. Since he was such a master he knew that he had to build it right. That meant first putting in a very very wide foundation. From that foundation he would start sculpting and building his sand castle.

Making Sand Castles from thin Air

Reveen went on for another 5 minutes with very specific and minute detail of how revered and notorious this Architectural Sand castle Sculptor was and then gave him a couple more taps and sent him on his way.

Then on the next subject the instructions he gave was that he was a famous prince and that this prince had looked and looked all over the world and was so sad because he had yet to find his princess. He mourned over the fact that he might never find his princess  and was very fearful of being alone but knew that he would have to keep looking for his princess no matter what. Then he realized he finally had found his princess and it was certainly her. He would dance a jig around her, sing her songs of love and jump up and down with happiness. His last instruction was that he would get down on his knees and propose. The next subject then was to be the princess. She was so enamoured by all the attention from the prince that she just gushed as he danced around her as she fanned her face from all the heat. She just kept on fanning and fanning her face as the prince danced around. When the Prince finally proposed she was supposed to sort of just sigh and tell him she would have to think about it while he danced around her 5 more times before coming back to propose once again.

The next subject he told him that when he tapped him on the shoulder that Reveen was reminding him that the show was over and that now it was time for him to leave the show by exiting down the stairs. Reveen would point towards the stairs where the architect was building his castle. He explained to the guy that he would walk back to his seat and that his seat was half way up the middle aisle.

When he got back to his seat which was at the end of the row, as soon as he touched any seat his hand would become immediately glued to the seat and simultaneously as he touched the seat he would also look down and realize that he had forgotten his Tie. He was instructed to yell as loud as he could at Reveen from the audience and say ‘Hey Reveen’ I forgot my Tie’ ! and waive at him furiously as he did that. Eventually Reveen would look up at him so that he would have to repeat himself.

Have you seen my Tie

We took a short break and before the break Reveen planted another suggestion into each subject's mind that they were going on their break and when they were out in the lobby they were going to act like nothing different was happening. When the show started after intermission they were to return to the stage. That is exactly what happened. We all had an opportunity to watch different subjects in the lobby during intermission and they were acting normal as normal. When the announcement came to return inside the Theatre, that is exactly what the subjects did. As soon as they walked through the door, they would hear the music and it’s like they just transformed back into that state and character that Reveen had programmed them at as they went in the direction of the stage. Then all the subjects started acting out their characters. So you can imagine what this was all like to watch from the audience.

Orchestra Instructor

Prince with the Princess

Sand Castle with the Architect

The guy with the tie

You immediately had the Symphony Orchestra Instructor waving his stick non-stop. The Prince going round and round his Princess he had just discovered and fell in love with going down on his knee to propose. The Princess continuously waved her fan and constantly gushing. The sand castle architect creating his sand castle masterpiece on the stage stairwell and the guy leaving the stage each time unintentionally walking thru the guys sandcastle, with the architect freaking out, then when the guy gets back to the chair his hand gets stuck as he realizes he forgot his tie, yells at Reveen to let him come back and get his tie, then comes up thru the stairwell and walks thru the newly created sand castle that the architect had just re-started. Each time the architect would get madder and madder as he waved his arms.

Living like a Wild Thing

It was just hilarious for all of us to watch each character develop and also to know that Reveen had created each subject into that character all by the power of suggestion.

So what I am saying is, how about your life? If Reveen can impress the subconscious that easily can you imagine the effect we can each have on our own selves if we each take the time to decide what we want and to trust that we can have anything we want. I would invite you to take the time to explore this. It really isn’t that complicated to manifest this part of ourselves. There are a lot of books out there that explain the subconscious mind on different levels that any of us can understand. Remember it as being easy to understand. Sometimes materials can be repackaged in such a way that they are harder to understand than needs to be. First you decided what you want. Then you trust the application of the subconscious mind.

Here is a simple way to think about it. Your creative subconscious mind can do almost anything you instruct it to do. It can change thoughts at your request, it can practice affirmations you create, it can wander in total mellowness meditation when you ask, and learn almost any new idea or skill when you decide. Your subconscious can think of everything you direct it to. Through discipline, effort and ongoing meditation and practice, it can also complete and accomplish anything you focus your thoughts on. The last thing is the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is unreal. In other words when you act ‘as if’ something has already materialized in your life your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference and quickly goes to work on the how to of furnishing you with your request. This all sounds so metaphysical and you will have to do some further exploring and reading and studying into it and of course the best way is to focus on something you desire. Go into a dark or dimly lit room and just go into a total relaxation so you can be in tune with yourself. This is when the magic happens. There are multiple books on this subject available. You just need to experiment with your application of these principles to discover the best method that works for you.

YOUR BELIEF MOVES THE MOUNTAIN

As we talk about creating possibilities, my mind can’t help but come back to Beliefs. Earlier we talked that within the word Belief is the word ‘lie’. Within beliefs is the subconscious and conscious mind. The conscious mind is our everyday living where we just are consciously aware of something. When we are doing something we are thinking about it. When we are watching something we are very aware that we are watching it. That is called the conscious mind. It's an everyday happening. Picture an iceberg. The top of the iceberg which is above water is about 5 to 10 percent of the total. The subconscious or what you don’t see beneath the waterline. That is about 90 percent of the iceberg. The subconscious is referred to as a vast storehouse of knowledge and wisdom. It is omniscient, meaning it knows everything. It is omnipotent which is all powerful and omnipresent which is everywhere. Those are technical terms but in summary your subconscious mind is all powerful, located everywhere and it knows everything. For you and the best way to understand it is to suspend your judgment while you are learning just how powerful it is. I could give you examples of how it has worked in my life and could tell you numerous examples of how people have used it in their life but the best way to really show you is for you to have your own experience with it. There is an expression that ‘Like attracts Like’. Meaning that, similar thinking attracts similar type thinking. Similar thoughts attract similar types of people. Like minded people hang around together. Big thinkers attract big thinkers. What you talk about you bring about. A lot of the times when we are living our everyday life we do it very consciously but underneath is the powerful subconscious mind working its magic. We are affected everyday by different peoples actions, what they say and different life experiences we encounter everyday. However the subconscious mind always wins in the sense that whatever your core underlying beliefs are that eventually they surface.

I used to hear different theories and one of them was that a lot of our beliefs go back to our childhood and just thought a lot of that was just silly. But now as I become more and more conscious in life about what is working for me and just what isn’t working it is evident to me that that plays a large part of it.

So do you ever wonder how some of the great Magicians out there are able to do what appears to be impossible. That’s because to us,it seems impossible at that time in our mind as we examine what their trick is. I remember I was listening to an audio recording a long time ago and they said that the best way to understand your subconscious mind is to just sit in the quiet. Sit in the quiet and just wait. Your subconscious mind will reveal itself to you. Now I understand that to be true. It does eventually present itself. Going back to suspend your judgment, the example I wanted to use is that all you have to do with the subconscious mind is pretend that you can have anything you want. You put that into your mind on a daily basis because it is important that you have repetition daily. But use your imagination and just dream a little bit. Just when you used to dream of something you wanted to be when you were a little kid. I’m talking about that kind of dreaming. If we think like this continuously and find different ways to expand our minds in a creative way our mind eventually unblocks and really starts to go into the zone. Your mind is unlimited, remember. You can employ it to create absolute miracles in your life. They appear to be miracles in your life but for the subconscious mind it is just another everyday occurrence. If you spend time on this everyday and work on using your subconscious mind it can and will bring you everything you want. Everything. But you have to be specific about what it is you want. You can also use other affirmations or suggestions or some people like to refer them to you as Paradigms. They basically are just new suggestions for your subconscious mind to accept. Today though there are a lot of courses and seminars about working with your subconscious mind but a lot of them fail in really showing you how to use it.

So what I am saying is, how about your life? If Magicians, total strangers, can impress the subconscious that easily can you imagine the effect we can each have on our own selves if we each take the time to decide what we want and to trust that we can have anything we want. First you decide what you want.

YOUR POWER OF WINNING CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME!

While driving, sometimes my best thoughts just seem to find me. I like this story because not only is it about winning, but also your state of mind and how it can take you places. Places where deliberately where you want to go. One day my mind started to roam about some famous and amazing Thoroughbred horse racing that has been witnessed over the years by hundreds and thousands of spectators, some observers, and some gamblers. It has always been my opinion that horse racing always seems to bring out the best of the best. If you can believe that there are anywhere from six to twelve and sometimes even 20 horses all out for that big number one position which usually always also carries with it a cash prize. It isn’t the horse either that really always shows up for the race. It's all the people involved with the ownership, and training that has the real stake in it. Somehow they derive their pleasure seeing it run until hopefully, it crosses the finish line in the right order. Then there are the bettors, some of whom will put their last ten bucks on a race because they are certain they have picked the right horse to win. No guarantee of course.

The owners, the trainers, the jockeys, the agents, the riders for warm-up, the groomers and the barn help, they all know that. Something keeps them coming back for the next race though. What do you suppose that is? Maybe knowing you were part of something successful. A winning team perhaps.

One thing is for sure…..like anything, if you have the time to do it, it is only then a matter of time until you find the right combination and success shows up.

This reminds me of the 1995 Kentucky Derby. One of the trainers at the time D. Wayne Lucas had a horse in his stable by the name of “Prince of Thieves”. The other horse he sent to race was ‘Grindstone’. If you are a horse race handicapper, you would have noticed that both of the riding Jockeys were top ranked. Pat Day rode on Prince of Thieves who appeared to be the favored horse to win that day. Grindstone, ridden that day by Jerry Bailey, was not even considered a contender. It seemed like Prince of Thieves never even made an effort. “He didn’t fire” as they say at the track. Grindstone who laid back throughout the race came out of nowhere in the final stretch of the race to win and shocked everyone. Unfortunately, though, that was Grindstone’s last race as he had injured himself, which meant not running in the second race of the Triple Crown and leaving his only contribution as horse racing retired as a stud for breeding. The next that happened was Lukas deciding to take Pat Day off of Prince of Thieves and let Jerry Bailey run on it for the up and coming Preakness.

Pat Day, of course, was quite dissed about this, as well considering the fact that he had already previously won four Preakness races. That’s right! Four! That is like taking Wayne Gretzky off the ice for the next game after winning a hockey game. Either way, it certainly got everyone’s attention and stirred things up. So, of course, two weeks after that at the Preakness race, in came Bailey to ride the favorite horse for the race, Prince of Thieves. Remember that was Lukas’s horse. Being high profile with his past success’s Lukas was once again interviewed before this famous race in front of the eyes of the rest of the world. After being rejected Pat Day did manage to find another race with a horse named Louis Quatorze which was a 10-1 longshot. Day took the whole race putting Quatorze across the finish line in supersonic speed with a record matching time leaving Prince of Thieves in the dust.

As Pat Day smoothly went across the finish line to victory he valiantly looked sideways over to where Lukas was in the stands. The whole world saw it on T.V. as Pat Day flared up his hand with all he could muster and he yelled ‘FIVE’! ‘FIVE’!  That’s right that was the fifth Preakness now under his belt. I think he actually meant something else. Like “UP YOURS! “

For anyone who saw this, you know he made his point. For anyone who has had that experience, you know, being second-guessed, put in the back row to watch the back of everyone’s heads, thrown out with the garbage, we can all relate to Pat Day.

For anyone that has had the honors, that created what looked like the impossible and pulled it off even when all the doubters stood by and watched because they didn’t believe, once you do this no one can take that away from you. No one. Pat Day knew he was a winner long before. If you do all the right things long enough, eventually it has to show up in the marketplace. It all starts with your own thinking. It’s your turn, to show the World your “FIVE!”

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU….

A newspaper changed my whole life…

One day I was looking in the newspaper and came across an advertisement that would change my life forever. It said come and  ‘learn about the greatest story told’  or How to create the impossible in your life’,that kind of thing. It sounded very interesting and had my curiosity. Keep in mind that I had no idea what I was doing, just following my path everyday of doing what seemed natural and what seemed like the right thing to do. Just a country boy wandering around the city looking for excitement. It said it was a free event so I thought what the heck I think I’ll check it out. It was at a downtown hotel and when I got there I followed the signs in the lobby to the room that was having the lecture. There was a lady at a table outside the door by the name of Anne that was registering everyone as they came in. Of course this was a long time ago and we didn't have any such thing as the internet to research and find out things and we didn’t have an online ticket company like Eventbrite where you could purchase your ticket. Anne was very cordial and friendly. I remember very clearly because I became very good friends with her. I registered and gave her my name and phone number and went inside and took a seat. There were already 30 or 40 people there and seated from what I remember. Nothing elaborate. Just an ordinary event. So when the event started no one came up to the front and made a big hurrah about the acclaimed speaker we were about to hear, like they do now whenever you go to something. He just came up and said his name was Walter and he was going to talk about how to achieve your goals in life and to get anything you want. He really got my attention. It went for about 45 minutes to an hour. No visual or power point presentation of any sort just him talking about possibilities in life and that anything was possible. Anything.

Wouldn't it be great if….?

He talked about the subconscious mind and how you could use it to attract anything in your life. He talked about the subconscious mind being the storehouse of knowledge,  where you could put any goal, object or desire you have into your mind and have it manifest in your life. It sounded really intriguing however I really didn’t know what he was talking about. It was interesting enough that made me want to sign up for it and check it out.

So the following weekend on a Friday at 6 o’clock we started the seminar. It was going to go until 11 o’clock Sunday night. We had a slide presentation along with some guy telling us about possibilities. Only it went into more and more detail. Then at the end of each lesson, we would do a meditation or visualization about what we had learned and we sat in the quiet for 10 or 15 minutes followed by a discussion. We would ask questions about what we had learned and made sure we were all clear about it before we went on to the next lesson. This went on all evening until about 11 o’clock. I went home quite excited about what I had learned. My wild mind was full of new possibilities and things that I wanted to do in my life.

The next morning I woke up feeling very refreshed. I won’t say that I had a new lease on life because at this time in my life it was really just beginning. I was only 20 years old and nothing ridiculous had happened in my life. I was just naturally experiencing it. So I drove into the City really just alive and alert and ready for a full day. And a full day it was. We started the whole exercise again. It was becoming more and more interesting as our minds got deeper and deeper into it and as our bodies all started to relax. We entered a zone of total ecstasy and joy. I don’t even know how to explain it to this day. It was a completely uninhibited feeling. A feeling that anything is possible.

Just believe it and feel your way

to possible….

We had no outside interruptions, no outside influences, no cell phones. We were just there. Just there totally and fully immersed in the process of learning and being. By noon the energy in that room was incredible. I wish to this day that we all had stayed in contact as it would be really interesting to know the direction everyone took after that weekend. So this went on all day and all afternoon and all evening. It was 11 or 11:30 p.m. by the time we were done again that day. A very full day. I drove home again feeling very fulfilled about everything that had happened that day. By the time I got home it was after 12 and I sure didn't feel like sleeping. I had to wind myself down and it was about 1 o’clock when I drifted off. It really didn’t feel like I needed any rest and got up about 5:30 because I had to feed up the cows before leaving for the City. When I got to the event everyone was outside the room chattering away about their experience so far. You could tell the energy was just very very high. We were all talking about what we thought we had learned so far and about what we wanted to do about it. There was also a certain amount of peace in the air. I don’t really know how to describe it except to say it was a very wholesome feeling. We felt connected.

High energy makes

it feel real

We felt like we were one with the universe or whatever term you want to use. I am saying ‘we’ because it seemed like everyone was on that level. We were entering into the day on a level that was so different than when we originally had began on Friday evening. It was especially a very good day Sunday because Sunday is/was supposed to be a day of rest or a day when the family all gets together. At least for me it was. On Saturday, Walter told us we were going to have some special guests on the following Sunday evening next weekend and that if we wished we could also bring a guest to listen to what we had experienced. For me there was no idea or conceptualization in my mind of just how this was supposed to turn out. It was my first real experience of getting a bunch of like-minded people together for a weekend. So we went through the day with the balance of the lessons and had our regular breaks. After dinner we came to the conclusion of the weekend seminar.

We were left with some exercises to do and followed them all week.

Do the work and see what starts

to come into your life.

We were assigned accountability buddies so each day we would check in with our partner and talk about our goals and how we were getting along with our assignments. It was a very exciting week. A lot had changed. The weird part was I had shifted so much from this that my Mom and Dad actually sat me down and had a talk with me. They actually thought I was now belonging to a cult. I can understand that now looking back on it however it was far from that. It was just an experience I had.

So the following Sunday I got to the hotel about 6 a.m., early enough to visit with some of my colleagues from the previous weekend. The energy was just as crazy as when we left. This evening was called the ‘sharing’ part of the seminar. It was where attendees from previous weekend seminars would come and talk about their experiences and what has gone on in their life. During the week for me, I had noticed different circumstances going on and different happenings that seemed a bit out of the norm. It was an awareness feeling. For a while, we listened to all different people talk about how this had made a difference in their lives. It was quite revealing and the fact that we all were in this together gave us a real sense of camaraderie. This whole evening event went till almost midnight with story after story after story, testimonials of people that were having different unexplained things happening in their life to outright what almost appeared to be miracles. This was really the first time I had experienced something like this at this level.

Then a guy named Peter got up. He talked about his experience of when he first went through this course about 11 months ago. Part of our assignment was that we were supposed to set some goals of immediate things we wanted in our life, some things that might take a little bit longer and long-term goals. Then we were supposed to practice daily relaxations of visualizing our goal in its completion. Every single detail we could imagine along with the feeling of achieving that goal. Peter talked about his Black 1964 Rolls Royce. He said that when he first left the weekend seminar he thought to himself that if he was going to go through these exercises then he might as well make it big. He had a desire for this Rolls Royce for a long time and had thought about it and thought about it. So he started to focus on his 1964 Black Rolls Royce. Every day early in the morning, he would start the day by visualizing it with detail. Imagine himself driving and owning it. It was an amazing experience he had said. He did it faithfully day after day. It felt the same every day as he went into his mind and owned it. It actually felt like he had it parked outside in his garage. So 30 days went by and then 60 days and still nothing. One of the things we learned in class was not to judge anything about our results. Just focus on the end and desired result as if it were already complete. Don’t focus on lack if you haven’t got the goal yet.

See yourself in possession

of your goal

The best example we were told is if a child planted a seed for a new tree to come up and came every day to examine if the tree was there yet. If the child stirred up the soil looking for the tree and just came and stirred up the soil every day, then nothing would come of it. Same thing with a goal. If you focus on what isn't there then that is actually what comes of it. You have to have the belief or faith that this goal unknowingly will show up. For some people that is a lot to handle. Believing that some invisible thing that you can’t see yet will inevitably show up. But here is the thing. It already has shown up. In your own mind. You just have to visualize that completed picture.

So as Peter explained to us, he would visualize faithfully every day. After 180 days he did admit he was kind of starting to wonder about if this really was going to happen.

But he would get up everyday and still do it. Well about the 265th day it was not really any different. He got up and followed his regular routine. Had a few errands to run and business as usual. He was just coming up to a corner crosswalk where there was a traffic light and had to wait till the light was green. As he was standing there, a little old lady hobbled up to the curb of the sidewalk with a bag of groceries. Seeing that they were both going the same way, he offered to help her by asking if she didn’t mind him carrying her bag of groceries across the street. She gladly accepted and was actually very happy as it really was a heavy bag. Especially at her age she thought. After they had crossed the street he then asked again if she didn’t mind, that he had the time and sure would not mind carrying the bag with her to her house. She agreed once more and along the way they went. When they got to her tiny little house Peter brought in the groceries and set them on the table. She brought him a glass of water since she was quite sure he would want one. He sat there for a moment and then figured it was time to get going. He had in his mind done his good deed for the day. As he stood up she said to him, Hey do you have one more moment I would like to show you something before you go. Come with me. He followed her out the back door to the garage thinking maybe she needed a hand taking out her garbage bins. When they got to the door she pushed the door open and it was pitch black inside. She flicked on the light and there it was! Right before him was a 1964 Black Rolls Royce. Wow! he said to himself I wonder if she wants to sell it. No sooner than the thoughts were in his mind as she came out and said. Isn’t this beautiful?

It was my husbands.

Your goal reveals itself to you

He just stood there in shock he said because he finally had realized at this moment that he had caused this to happen. Everything had led him to this day of finding this Rolls Royce.

The little old lady then looked at him and said. “You know...you have been so kind to me that I have to tell you something. My husband died about 9 months ago and this car he was just so proud of. I have been looking all over for someone to give this car to and I would like to give it to you.

I know what you’re thinking. You have got to be joking or what a fairytale. That would never happen. The truth is it did happen. Stuff like this happens like this every day. People like you and me ask for something and we get it.

But if you don't ask, you don’t get. I was there and heard this story and have no reason to not believe it.

Just ask yourself what it is that you want and what it is that you want to have, be and do. Has your dream come true?

Maybe you are at the stage that you haven’t really set any goals for yourself. Maybe your ship just hasn’t come in yet. The truth is your ship has come in and

it's been sitting in the harbour waiting for you.

Whatever it is, I can tell you that it is never too late. Ever!

Now I really like dreaming about possibilities. Of things that can materialize in one's life. I could spend the next 3 hours just talking about possibilities and how you can have your dream. Whatever that is for you. The whole idea is to not only inspire you of the possibilities and faculties of your mind available to reach your dream, also though to show you how anything is possible.

What you’re looking for is what you're looking for right here

How to solve any problem no matter how big it is.

No matter what comes along. No matter how big it really is. A problem or a challenge as we prefer to call them, seem really big when they come along. Even the little ones, like ‘Hey, where is the pepper? I just can’t see it’ Of course you can’t see it. We have to be careful how we can speak ourselves into and out of existence. You always discover the pepper was there all along.

Speak yourself into existence

Whenever someone says to me, ‘Hey Jim, have you seen that bracket? It was right here a few minutes ago’ ‘I just don’t understand what happened to it’ they say, ‘I just had it a minute ago and seem to have lost it’. Whenever they say that, my first reply as we start to look around is “It is here somewhere and I’ll tell you what...when we find it, it will be in an obvious spot’ Sure enough a minute or 5 minutes later when we find the bracket. Bob says ‘ Oh here it is, oh ya, I remember now, I laid it here on the floor before I flipped over the plywood onto it.’

So there is something to learn here. Many times we are looking for something that we think is lost in our life. Or maybe it is something we are trying to solve and in our opinion just can’t seem to get it. Just can’t seem to come up with the right solutions to solve it.

One of the best exercises I learned in my earlier years of attending different seminars and workshops was if I wanted to solve something I would put it into the form of a question. For example, if I wanted to increase my income, I would say ‘ How can I increase my income by 20% in the next 12 months?’ Then I would take a blank piece of paper and start making a list of as many solutions possible for this question. No judgement. Just write out the solutions. I wouldn’t analyze it over and over. Just keep writing and writing adding to my list until I felt I had exhausted it. Then take a break for a few minutes and come back to it. After looking at it, many times my solution was either in the first 5 items or sometimes it was the second last one. If I still wasn’t satisfied with my solutions I would place it to the side for 24 or 48 hours and just let the list sit. Many times before I got back to the list I found a solution in a conversation I was having with someone or just happened to be reading something and just stumbled across the winning solution.

So anything can be figured out if you are willing to put some time into it. No matter how big it is you can start by putting it on paper. This gives you a chance to really look at it. The other way is to talk to someone. It could be either someone you can confide in or even a Professional. Many times, a different set of eyes or ears can see the obvious solution for our dilemma. It is like ‘Eureka’ that is exactly what I was looking for or it can come in a flash of an idea you get as a result of the conversation.

Einstein has been quoted in many forms and one of his famous quotes was ‘We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.’  It’s true too, but we have allow ourselves to open up and be open to a solution. Forget the logic. Just give yourself permission to be open and receptive to a solution. Tapping into your higher self. Your subconscious mind. We are such powerful forces.

Even when you are working to solve it, begin with the end in mind. Focus on what you want your solution to look like. Write this out as clear as you can get it. So much, that if someone woke you in the middle of the night, you could speak it out in 30 seconds. It is so clear, that it is part of your being. There are many ways to do this. The most important is that you face it. Face your challenge right in the eyes. Hit it head on. Just doing that is 50 percent of it. The rest will unfold as you go. Facing it, starts to remove and unmask the fear and push it to the side. A lot of times you will find that your perceived challenges were just that. Perceived and interpreted to be something that would stop you from acting.

I used to read articles like this and think it was a good idea and then put it on my list or save it in my email until tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes. Nothing ever gets done or acted on. Even though I was looking for a solution and the solution was right in front of me I never recognized it. I guess I wasn’t hungry enough for a solution. Eventually though, some ideas keep repeating themselves and you start to recognize a pattern that the universe is just trying to remind you.

And so…you act!

Because, your only access to changing your self or your world is action.

Your action. The world that is watching doesn’t care about what you intend, how committed you are, how you feel or what you think. That’s why you have to take full responsibility for your actions.

Lets face it. No one gives a hoot about your action. They are so caught up with their life and have their own problems to look at and really have no interest in what you want or don’t want.

So Write out your biggest challenge that is going on in your life right now. Make a list. Then take action. Do something about it. Starting now. Even one movement and step in the right direction creates space and will make you feel good because you acted.

Discovering The Real You

In reading about a successful Bodybuilder, they asked her all the typical questions you would ask in an interview. One of the questions had a different and detailed answer. When asked what really made a difference in her life towards becoming a better person in her quest for not just her profession but her own Personal  Development here is what she said.

‘Well I decided to get to know myself better and so I decided to make a list of ‘things you might not know about me’.

Unknown things about you…

Then she went on to talk about how exciting some of the things were on her list that she does. It was quite fascinating to listen to her excitement as she got more and more enthusiastic going down the list.

That sounded like such a great idea that I made one up for myself.

Its amazing the effect it can have on you. Since then I’ve had people ask me, ‘hey I want to do that’. Well the fact is you can. It is quite enlightening. You might also want to get a friend to help you. They can give you ideas and remind you of things about you that should be on there. They will even encourage you to put things on the list that you would not have otherwise. You will find it feels good on paper to see your list and also it makes the picture of you better of how you see yourself. You write it on the list and then say ‘Hey, thats right, I know how to Surf.’ or Hey, thats right, I am really good at that.’ So give yourself some validation. There will be things you wrote on there that you long forgot about. It may even give you some ideas on how to work through some current challenges that are facing you. Its also fun too.

Roller Skate your way through your list

You realize that, ‘wow I used to go roller skating and had a blast and totally forgot about how much fun I had.’

You will find to it grows on you. Your list will take on a life of its own

because you are so inspired with it.

Just to give you an idea, here is my list. I just made the list and kept adding to it. There is no real format. You can keep it simple or you can fancy it up and make a real project with it.

ACTION TAKES IT ALL

It’s amazing just how confident you can feel when you are working on all the things that really count. Everything fits together. When you are working on something that you have thought about for so long.

Very often, even in the middle of the night you would wake you and you just couldn't stop thinking about it. Why you didn’t act on it before…you just don’t know. You had other projects you were working on and this just wasn't important. Yet. Until that one day you had paused for a moment at your desk just doing a little bit of reflecting and in a real casual soft voice you said to yourself

‘Yes, you know, I should do that. I have thought about it for so long. What if I just totally focused on it and completed it’

It was a sense of relief just knowing that now it was going to be done.

Almost euphoric in a way because now you could check it off your Master List. Yes! That's it! It's another achievement and that feels good.

Then comes the action part. You outline the project and all the people involved. Contractors, sub-Contractors, surrounding business’s,

engineers, Heavy Equipment Companies, Building supplies.

Then right in the middle of the project you run into a snag. Then another snag. You can feel the pressure but you decide to lean in anyways. Because of your experience, you know it's solvable. So you get that done too.

But what about the huge projects you take on. The challenges are much much bigger. But really they’re not. It’s just a matter breaking down the barriers to small pieces. It could take a little longer. You might have to bring in some specialist. But it's the same formula.

Just of larger magnitude.

So why are we talking about all this. The only thing it takes is action.

All out crazy action to do whatever it takes to complete it.

That's the winning action attitude you should always have. And you take that with you wherever you go. In business and in your personal life.

Sometimes even when you don’t know what to do next, you just lean into it and keep moving with activities and get anything done that can be a part of the equation. As you are doing that, you have a breakthrough. A solution comes to you from the last section you were working on. That's why we have to keep moving. You stay focused on your project as a whole and as you work on it, all the small pieces start showing up to fit together. That's why in life, its always important to know when to pick up a shovel. Even when you do the dog work.

While you do the krappy work you get to think. While you are thinking,

ideas and solutions come to you and then all of a sudden the unpleasant work starts to become gloriously rewarding. Because not only are you getting this work done, you are solving other issues in your life or business at the same time. It’s becomes really quite easy

the more and more you understand the complexity of your brain.

But the doing it is what counts. All out evasive, outrageous, no holds barred, top producing, over the top ACTION!

That just knocks it outta the park!

When you taking on action on anything it gives you traction and allows you to get lucky. Because the volume of work you are doing sets other actions into motion. It causes other people to think differently. It moves the needle and creates an exponential growth

that spills over for weeks and months to come. The momentum gets so great that at one point, you could not stop it if you wanted to. Action breaks records. It gets other people moving and excited.

It even helps you sleep better, because just as you hit the pillow and before you close your eyes, you think about all the great things that happened that day and that makes you feel like you have a million bucks. Its such a sweet sweet feeling and as you bath yourself in all the dopamine you are creating you fall asleep in a such a beautiful state and you are out. Out cold! You get the best sleep of your life.

You are ready for taking action for another record breaking results day. It gets to be so much fun that you just wonder where this feeling of complete Utopia has been all your life. Its absolutely incredible.

So have a new list everyday that drives you to completing your purpose. New people show up in your life. Engineers and specialists that are in the top 5% in the world in their profession.

You achieve excellence in your own right.

The thing is about excellence is that once you have achieved excellence in any area of your life it tends to rub off in other areas of your life. Win once and from then on you are always a winner.

Your standard of excellence follows you wherever you go.

May Your Goal Be With You

In the grand scale of human achievements, one thread shines brilliantly: the power of extrinsic motivation. Like a guiding star in the night sky, extrinsic motivation has illuminated countless paths toward success, propelling individuals to reach heights they never thought possible. It’s a force that sparks creativity, drives innovation and fuels the engines of progress.
Extrinsic motivation, often referred to as external motivation, is the driving force that emerges from external rewards, recognition, and tangible benefits. Unlike intrinsic motivation, which arises from an individuals internal desires and passions, extrinsic motivation comes from external factors such as financial rewards, praise, promotions, or accolades. While some critics think external incentives can undermine the authenticity of one's efforts, the truth is that extrinsic motivation can be a potent catalyst for growth and achievement.

Imagine a world without external rewards - no medals, no promotions, no recognition. While internal satisfaction is undoubtedly, extrinsic motivation gives us a unique sense of urgency and ambition towards our goals. Ask any Olympic athletes striving for gold or entrepreneurs vying for a prestigious industry award. These tangible goals provide a clear target, inspiring individuals to push their limits and surpass their previous levels.

Life is full with challenges that can sometimes leave even the most motivated individuals feeling disheartened. This is where extrinsic motivation swoops in like a guardian angel, reminding us of the rewards that await on the other side of adversity. The promise of promotion, a scholarship, or a life changing grant can infuse us with the grit and determination needed to persevere through tough times.

The power of extrinsic motivation lies not just in its ability to prompt hard work, but also in its capacity to unleash creativity and innovation. When external incentives dangle like ripe fruit, our minds are naturally drawn to new and imaginative ways to achieve our goals. Consider the realm of scientific research, where competitions for coveted grants drive researchers to develop groundbreaking solutions to society’s most pressing challenges.

Extrinsic motivation doesn’t just affect individuals, it also has a profound impact on group dynamics. When people are united by a common goal, spurred on by the allure of rewards or recognition, collaboration flourishes. This unity transforms a collection of individuals into a well oiled machine, each member contributing their unique strengths to achieve shared objectives.

External validation, in the form of praise, recognition, or awards, acts as a mirror reflecting our capabilities back to us. This reflection can significantly impact our self-confidence and self-esteem, validating our efforts and validating our potential. When we see others acknowledging our hard work, we begin to see ourselves as capable and deserving of success.

In a world teeming with aspirations and dreams, extrinsic motivation stands as a powerful ally, an inspirational force that propels us toward our goals. Its a force that lights up the dark corners of doubt, strengthens our resolve in the face challenges, and reminds us of the incredible rewards awaiting us at the finish line.

The power of extrinsic motivation is not a replacement for intrinsic desires; rather, its a complementary force that accelerates our journey toward success.

From athletes who break records to artists who leave an indelible mark on culture, from scientists who revolutionize industries to entrepreneurs who change the landscape of business- they all share a common thread: the spark of extrinsic motivation that pushed them to surpass their limitations and strive for greatness. Not just getting the gold but the whole Treasure Chest!

Focused or Distracted?

DISTRACTED OR FOCUSED?

That’s it! At any given time we are either Distracted or Focused!

Today started great. I have a project I am working on and had booked off some time on my Calendar to work on it.

Got off to a good start in the morning. Did my walking to loosen up.

Come home and have a nice hot shower.

When I start on something I am working on, usually I like to get some

quiet low classical baroque music. Then I get at it. I know that the sooner I start, the faster and quicker I get into the zone. I get up early so a lot of times I can get a lot of work done in 2 to 4 hours before my

enthusiasm begins to dwindle. I think some of my best ideas show up anytime, but the real good ones before sunrise and 9 a.m.

I’m just about ready to start typing, but wait I forgot to mute my phone and maybe put it over on the counter. I do keep it close by in case any one of my family calls, but for the most part when I am focused…I AM FOCUSED!

So I’m just reaching for my phone and of course….it starts to go off.

I look at it and say…..should I answer that. I know what it is and I can answer it later. I had just submitted a Huge file with some new budgeting which I took quite a bit of time on. It was quite thorough and there is no way they went through that whole file within the last hour.

So I answer it. Wrong Jim! You shoulda left it. They had some detailed questions that seriously I just don’t like to get entangled with first part of the day before I go to work. I don’t even know why they couldn’t figure it out. But I answered, so I had to look after it.

That really wasn’t the beginning though. At 6:45 this morning, a construction crew that was working on the home next door decides

to start their router to trim the plywood they had just put up. I thought about that one too but it had already started. By the time I go out their

and bury the guy with my spade, they might already be done.  So I bit the bullet and put up with it.

So whats its sound like to you. That I am focused or that I am distracted?

Of course you guessed. By the time I got off with the phone call I was in too deep. The calls keep coming in and each time I answered I was getting deeper and deeper away from the zone I like to be in. Each time I tried to scurry away lol. It was hilarious actually if you were watching me. Finally just after lunch I said to myself

‘Okay thats it’!!! ‘  I am outta here!

It felt like my boundaries had been violated here at home with all the noise and phone calls going on.

So I’m going to my secret spot.

The place where everything is silent. Actually it can be silent anytime, its just that I chose to get involved in other than what I was planning, interrupt my schedule and create a little chaos!

So you know what I’m talking about when I say ‘Are you focused or are you distracted?’

It’s one or the either. There is no in between. You are laser focused on getting something done or you are totally messed up and distracted. Funny thing is we all know when we are distracted. We also all know the feeling that comes with being focused.

That feeling when you are so fired up about everything. Where your focus is and the results you are getting. There are times you really have to discipline yourself. Turn off the tap of other stuff going on and just plain focus!  FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS!

The real silly part of it is, if you procrastinate and say to yourself, you’ll do it tomorrow. Usually never comes.

It gets easier though as you have a little chat with yourself and just decide that now you are going into your zone and getting it done.

I have this friend of mine. Lets just call her Nancy. Nancy is one of those go getter types. When I say that I totally mean it. She talks a mile a minute as her brain unwinds and keeps getting more ideas. I just love listening to her and I can keep right up as her words of brilliance keep coming out. She goes way beyond in looking after her clients. She has action behind everything she talks about.

Moves like lightning and just plain gets it done! Get’s it all done!

Once you’ve had excellence in your life it is easy to spot a winner.

The Professional. The one who gets it done. When that happens things come together a lot smoother and quicker.

When you do that, you can operate in the focus zone! Without distraction. If it's a distraction, you can push it to the side, get your project done and later just go back and see how urgent that distraction actually was.

There is focus and there is distraction. You cannot work on both at the same time because then nothing gets done.

So going back to my story on the day when I had all those interruptions. I did actually get the work done on my project that day which was important and I wanted to do. Its really important to me and that is why I take great joy in starting my day with it.

What about you? Whats the one thing that if you just focused 15 minutes on everyday or 1 hour everyday not matter what, how would you feel about that? I talking something you are really excited about in your life, that no matter what is going on you get to work on it everyday. It could be your little secret project. Something you are totally obsessed with that no one will know about until it is completed.

Even then you might tell anyone. Whats one thing that if you worked on it a little bit everyday that in a few months or a year you could have a masterpiece. After 2 years there would be no stopping you. And if you kept on for the next 20 years, then you have a legacy that you probably could not stop of you wanted too.

Because lets face it. In todays World there is so much stuff going on that it just doesn’t make it pleasurable. I am not going to make a big list and go into detail because that isn’t my focus here.

I think we all need something good going on in our lives that we can focus on everyday so that even no matter what happens we can focus on our own joy and know that we made a difference today.

CLEAR THE ROOM AND START AGAIN

That’s how you do anything. You persist until it is done. Its like when you are working on a jigsaw puzzle. You try a piece, it fits. You try fitting another piece, it doesn’t fit. So you get another piece and you keep trying until one fits. Then its late at night and you still haven’t finished the puzzle. You need some sleep.

So you go to sleep. Clear your mind and start again.

Depending how big a puzzle it is, every morning you clear the room and start again. Fresh new set of eyes,

fresh and alert thinking. Brand new and ready to go.

Guess what? The one mystery piece you spent the last 45 minutes looking for last night is now right in front of you. It was there all along.

That’s why sometimes when working on a challenge in your life its good to get a new set of eyes or ears because we don’t always see what we are looking for which a lot of times right in front of us. Someone else comes along and says ‘What about this way…have you thought of that?’ and there it is. The obvious solution.

Its like the construction workers working at the overpass. There was a big Truck 18 Wheeler hauling some goods and it got stuck trying to go under the bridge. The workers tried to pull it free. They attached chains to it, brought in heavy equipment and gave it another tug. Still the big truck just wouldn’t move an inch. They had been working on it for 2 hours and still no success.

Next thing you know a little boy about 8 years old comes along and says to the workers ‘What are you doing?’ No one replied or paid attention to him so he asked again. ‘Excuse me, but what are you doing?’

Finally one of the workers turned around and said,

‘Well if you must know, we are trying to get this truck out from under this overpass because it is stuck’

The boy looked over at the truck and then said ‘Well thats easy, why don’t you just let the air out of the tires’ Of course the workers were dumbfounded at the obvious solution that had been there all along and here comes the little boy with a different point of view.

Many times the answer we are looking for is right in front of us. We are just too close to see it.

The next time you are working on an answer for something or are trying to figure out a challenge that is going on in your life, take a break. Go for a walk. Go get a glass of milk out of the fridge or maybe just read a book for 5 minutes. Then go back to what you were working on. Many times an obvious solution will just pop up.

What happens when you take a break is it distracts your conscious mind. So your conscious mind takes a break and this allows your subconscious mind to jump in there and search for an answer.

So when we are working on something, sometimes we have to just slow it down. Take your time. Focus on the problem in the back of your mind and just know that the answer is there. Eventually it will surface.

So what is the biggest challenge you are working on at this time in your life? Better yet, what one thing would you like to accomplish that you just maybe aren’t sure how you would do it but would like to figure out.

There are different possibilities here. What we first do when we are trying to figure something out is we look at our own self and ask ‘what do we know about this?’

Then after we’ve gone through that file in our mind we then ask ‘who could I talk to that might know this?’

That's where most people stop looking for an answer because after that any answer then looks impossible to find or figure out. ‘It is impossible’ we say in our mind. Here’s the thing though. We do not know what we do not know. There is an answer, it's just that we don’t know it. We don’t know the person that knows it.

We actually have doubt that it even exists. But the answer is out there. Someone knows the answer. We just don’t know of or know that person that knows it.

Just because we can’t think of the answer right now doesn’t mean the answer is not there. It's there. Just like the answers to all our dreams, inspirations and desires are all there too. We just don’t spend enough time keeping our mind open and thinking about possibilities of the answer.

So think about that one big thing or one great dream you have that you could start working on today. Even if it took you 3 months 3 years or 10 years to accomplish it. Knowing that it might take a while to achieve it, would it still be worth it for you.

What do you want so badly, with so much desire, that knowing you can have it, that it's worth re-inventing your whole self? What is that for you?

Go back to your notebook and look at your list of things you would like to be have or do. What one goal really stands out for you? One that you think about often. That consumes you. That you go to sleep with and wake up in the morning with?

Now imagine that once you started working on that everyday that each night when you went to sleep you could be thinking how much you got done today. And to be able to think about that each night as you went to sleep. Think what your life would be like knowing each day is a step closer. What is that for you and what has to happen for you to get started on it today?

Then get up in the morning, clear the room and start again.

LAY IT ON THE LINE STARTING TODAY

If you are going to spend 8 or 10 or 12 hours a day doing something it might as well be something you enjoy. By the time you have accumulated

1000’s of hours there is a lot of specialized knowledge invested. So you keep coming back to it because you want too, not because you have too.

Lets say you love building rockets and it totally consumes you. You just get lost in them everytime someone mentions it or everytime you start building a new platform to launch the next rocket. Sure its a hobby but your rockets that you have launched have gone thousands of feet up in the air. Then when they are coming down a parachute is released at just the right time so that it doesn’t crash. But you’ve perfected it. The whole process from when you first receive the Rocket Kit thru the mail, from the time it takes to build it, all the details in between, then launching it, and the final stages when it comes down for a safe landing.

Having one thing with this type of perfection in your life has a way of affecting all the other areas of your life in a very positive and uplifting experience kind of way. Its like a standard you keep close to your self and every once in a while you raise the bar. Because you know you can and

sometimes you don’t know if you can but you want to find out so you stretch your thinking.

Have you ever thought of putting a list together of all the different skills

you ultimately might like to learn or be have or do. I mean just the thought

alone of doing it is mind boggling. Especially when you get up in the morning and have a look at it. Your mind stretches and has since had time to relax and then all of a sudden sees the list again and your imagination starts to expand. What a way to start the day.

But you have to focus though. Make this one thing your all out obsession that you want to build something. Build something that is a part of you and a part of your personality. While you’re doing it and deeply focused, life carries on. You still have b.s. problems to deal with but your obsession project takes on a whole new meaning. Suddenly it starts to get exciting. Because you are doing it for you and your future. For you and your legacy. How exciting is that? Building something as a one person empire that you don’t have to listen to any bosses. You don’t have to punch a time clock.

Once you’re ahead of the game and making good profits you can live the life you really want to live. With the financial part all taken care of you have more choices. You can increase your quality of life anytime. As long as you are making your own decisions you always get to decide. By the way who makes your decisions anyways? Who are you hanging around and what have they got you doing? Hopefully your answers are positive and you make your own decisions.

But if you havent started, you have to start somewhere. Like pick up a pen and start writing. Start writing an outline of how or what kind of business you would like to develop. And, you don’t need business experience either.

Anytime you have a question, you just google it. It can be that easy or you can make it that complicated.

Today everything, including brilliant minds are available on the internet.

You just have to discern what is the right information.

As you build your business, you create new products, whether thats information products, physical products or services. Whatever you are excited and passionate about that your life revolves around. Because right now that is what you know. Going the other way you could start out with something so exciting and different that it just gives you a new paradigm to work from.

Look at it this way. Lets say you have a full or part-time job working 20 to 40+ hours a week. That job pays you, helps you look after your life and living expenses. So you got that covered.

Now, your new venture, lets say you have 1 - 2 hours a day to devote to it so lets call it 10 plus hours a week. Those 10 hours a week and 40 hours a month and 500 hours a year or going to reward you by coming back to you in revenue that you create selling your product or service. So as you build your future income eventually it gets so big that it comes back and meets your present income. Pretty soon you have so much money coming in that life really starts to feel good

So whats it gonna be for you? What do you really want to start?

Don’t overthink it. Just think about the possibilities today. Then tomorrow look at your list and cull out what you think shouldn’t be on there and keep adding to the list over a couple of days.

Or maybe you already know. Can you do it? You better believe it you can.

There are people around you everyday that are achieving your goals and you are a part of that.

Think right now about the biggest hugest challenge that popped up in your life and your went to work and solved it. The same energy you used to solve this issue in your life is the same energy it takes to build you one man business. So now you know that everything is figureoutable. Each day we have new list of stuff that shows up in our life and each day we just solve problems. Because we are all ingenious problem solvers. That’s how our minds are built. The great part is we get to choose what we want to use our minds for. Why not use it to do something great?

If you have come to the end of reading this, there must be a reason why. Your curiosity has got you thinking about something you would like to do.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about it for a long time or maybe its an idea that just popped into your mind. There must be a reason for that.

Give yourself permission to expand your thinking and expand your idea into something you can make real. What if you did? Imagine that. Listen to

your own thoughts. If you are going to share your thinking, share it with like minded people. Take advice, but only take advice from people that have gotten the same results you are seeking.

Trick your Mind….See What You’ll Find

How to Reach Your Ultimate Life Destination…There is a gap. A gap between where you are in life and where you think you should be. We might like where we are but underneath is that gnawing feeling deep down that we really should achieve more. Do more. Create more. Be more.

Our mind thinks in pictures so everything we see everyday registers in our mind of possibilities that could be. We look around what is going on in our life and take some satisfaction but the contrast is what we see on social media. So where do you draw the line about what is possible?

Lets face it, there is a bit of difference between a 17 foot small pleasure boat compared to a 400 foot mega yacht.

So does that mean that depending on how strong your belief is will be be how big of a boat you end up with? Good question and I just don’t know all the answer. So let's spend some time exploring this.

Some of us are taught to believe and achieve. Believe that you will have the life you design and sooner or later you will achieve that right?. That has to be somewhat true right? You do have to be clear about what you want. You have to have some kind of a way to measure where you are going because how else are you going to achieve it and know if you are progressing.

Many many weekends ago at a seminar a couple talked about how they decided they wanted to change the house they lived in. They wanted it bigger and better, a large estate size orchard, a swimming pool in a beautiful neighborhood, that sort of thing. They took the time to buy dozens and dozens of magazines, find photos wherever they could and started building a scrapbook of their ideal home. The whole ideas was to really get specific about what they wanted and attract it into their life. Maybe I mean the law of attraction but maybe not. The ‘law of attraction’ term has been so used and abused. I am talking about a deeper level of manifesting and bringing into one's life specific experiences and things one wants. Really digging deep and believing all this is possible.

Even as I am writing this I have my continuous loop audio playing with my headphones on that talks about my life with affirmations and declarations of how my life has turned out. It's a grandiose picture and audio of my ultimate desires. I have a clear picture in my mind about where my relaxation homes are for my latter years. The golf courses I would like to play on. The ultimate sunny environment. My vacation home where my kids come and visit when they want and also just go there themselves with their family if they want. The kind of cars I will be driving. Like my Black Mercedes S560 that takes me up and down all the interstates when I decide to drive instead of fly. After you drive a car like that it is hard to compare to anything else. Other things like a description of  my Charities I like to contribute to all the little details. My whole audio is full of that. I personally made it myself to describe my world to me. To remind me what is important to me in my world. Also, to give my mind a picture of what my world looks like as I move through it.

So getting back to the couple and their dream house. At the front of the scrapbook they had a picture of their Dream Home and inside the covers of the scrapbook they had a description of all the features of the house. Their life progressed for about 3 or 4 months and not too much transpired. They were still aware daily of their Dream Home and what they wanted in it.. It was just part of their daily routine looking at it. Just like brushing your teeth or making your bed they would look at the Dream Home Book everyday.

Things changed at work for the husband. He received a transfer at work to move 2000 miles away. The next weekend they flew in to look at the new city they would live in and also to look at some houses. After viewing quite a few homes they hadn’t found what would be comfortable for them. Nothing seemed to click for them. They went home discouraged but with a plan to come back the following weekend. That next weekend they went through the similar procedure of viewing and viewing homes but still nothing really resonated with them. Going back to their hotel room to pack to fly back, they got a call back from their Real Estate Agent.

Their Agent said ‘Hey, I know we haven’t found what you are looking for but there is a house that just came onto the market that sounds somewhat like what you are looking for and since you are still here why not come and look?’

Away they went as the Agent picked them up. When they drove up it was the house that they had on the cover of their Dream Book. The exact house. They were just floored. After all the exercises they had gone through with building their Dream Book they somehow had forgotten about it thinking that someday would come when they were well retired that they would have a house like that.

That just gave me chills when I heard that story.

Why photos are important is this: We as humans have built inside our brain what is called a Reticular Activating System also known as the RAS. Look at  the RAS as a heat seeking missile that seeks out the picture that you have in your brain of what you want. It might miss a few times while taking you on your search but it quickly corrects itself and gets back on course in the direction of your goal. Just like the couple that were looking for their Dream Home, they were looking at homes and had forgotten about their dream home but still the RAS took them to their house.

You can put almost anything into your brain and with repetition your RAS will seek out and take you to your goal. That sounds so unreal but remember it does sometimes take time for your results to materialize but it will reach its destination.

That's why it's important to know what your target is. What your goal is. What is your ultimate goal of your ultimate life and where would you like it to take you. The more specific you can be then the quicker your RAS can help you get there.

Just say yes to your life. Leave yourself open to ideas and suggestions to reach your wealth and time freedom. Just be specific. Make a project out of it. It's worth it and you and your family are worth it. Just say yes!
