Walk Your Talk or Stay Out of the Ring
There is just too many messages. What if I told you from the time we get up to the time we go to sleep we get somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 messages. Everything is a message.
Thats why I like first thing in the morning. Late at night too, but the real cream of the crop starts first thing in the morning. Ideas come from everywhere. When you start developing your mind to really receive the ideas flow even more at such velocity. Thats why its good for you to know what is really important to you. When you know what is important to you, you actually feel happier, because you are working on the things that really count. Everything else after that is happier. Feel happier, walk happier, talk happier, see happier, hear happier, smile happier and the list goes on and on. I mean, I remember a day when there was no such thing as the internet and you would take out a pen and a piece of paper and work out your challenges on paper until you figured it out. Then you might go down to the nearest library to find a book on the subject. Models of success were around but not as plentiful as they are now. They were scattered all around the world. Now you can just plug right in to your favorite hero and see what they suggest.
Maybe its too easy
Thats why its important to really know what outcomes you are seeking.
Its great to talk about your goals too, because what you talk about, you bring about. Just like negative energy can infect the whole room, positive thinking energy and expression passes through a crowd so fast.
I mean i’ve met people who can brighten up a whole room. By leaving it that is. You feel it the moment they have exited the room. Your proximity group. The 5 or 6 people that you talk to everyday or are hanging around dramatically affect and influence you. Now I’m not trying to make you paranoid but just hanging around the wrong people can alter your whole direction. You almost don’t have to have a converstion with people like this because you wouldn’t get a chance anyways since all they do is talk. Just being in the same room affects you. When you leave, even though you havent really spoken to them, you feel like you still need to take a shower.
So be nice to yourself and focus on whats important to you. Doing this will invoke your sense of freedom and all the great things that go with that.
Join some groups that make you stretch and have some fun, with the feeling that you are contributing and making a difference. I know people that grew up in a small town, but went to the big city for a while. Thats the best thing because, be having experience in the big world, it changes your thinking. Their Small town exposure then going to the big city of experience gives them more insight. The small town thinking people will always be small town thinkers and stay where its safe.
If you have your goals and ideals in front of you daily, you will find eventually they permeate your soul. So eventually you put up or shut up.
You walk your talk or you get out of the ring..
Thats the acid test, how bad do you want it
Instead of carrying a goal around forever, isn’t it better to take some action immediately to find out now if its really what you want. I used to carry around a list so long that it would take me 3 days to read it, to discover what I was going to accomplish next. It would totally exhaust me.
All you have to do is pick one goal or target that excites you and decide you are going to all of yourself into it. That would be your major purpose. The other goals will follow along with you. When you have the most important goal in front of you daily, the other goals on the list get caught up in the momentum. Along the way you, fit one in here and complete it, you complete another one in a few weeks. A lot of times without even knowing it. Next thing you know, 3 months has gone by and you are just soaring with your major purpose and you look at your whole list and you see there are maybe 5 or 6 others that you have accomplished. Its important to focus on your main goal and if you find out at the beginning, it just isn’t important then you just trash it. Move on to something that has more meaning to you. That really excites you. Hour by hour. Day by day. As your inspiration deepens and your discipline sharpens you will find that the world is not just made up of stones and timber. Your goal is a living thing. You put your whole heart and soul into it. The daily discipline spills over and affects other areas of your life too. It just gets better and better. If you just start with one goal and make it your discipline you are ahead off 99 percent of the population out there.
Then later you can reward yourself. Take a trip like maybe a couples weeks on the beach or a hike in the forest then up the mountain. While away you can look back and reflect on your accomplishments. Its an amazing sight and feeling when you do it that way too. You totally detach from you life for a few weeks or a few months and see what you have done. You feel it. What you are creating are extraordinary results. Way above average. A lot of times, way beyond what you ever imagined.
Those Feelings You Remember
Experiences like this impress your whole being and way of life. As you keep stacking these experiences they keep getting richer and richer because you are paying attention to them. Paying attention to the feeling it gives you. Richer and richer and richer.
Whether you have got a new plan to build a model of a new wheelbarrel or a record setting World Skyscraper, it is still the same method. You are using your mind to develop and capture ideas help you accomplish the task.
The time in the quiet hours you spent reflecting, taking notes as they came along and going into the detail.
Really creating a vision in your mind of the final product when the last brick and concrete has been laid.
It keeps getting better too. You start on another project and it develops in your mind as you work on it. Your next masterpiece is starting to take shape.
Thoughts are things. The next time you start on a project that is really important to you remember that your thinking now of how you see it develops as you go. What you think now and what you are thinking 3 months from now will be much more grandiose than your original plan.
So you keep building on your dream. Keep taking action. Nothing can
replace the act of action. You see immediate results and it spurs you on to even greater success.
So what is it for you. What is the all encompassing desire you have that you really realliy want to accomplish? More that anything else. Something that you have thought of for such a long long time it is totally permeated in your mind, body and soul. Its time to walk your talk. Make it happen.
Even just take one step today. Buy a notebook you can use for the project.
Make a phone call. Register the new company. Start writing the outline. Make an illustration. See what I mean? Just take action on one thing so you can say to yourself, ‘This is the day I started’. Then repeat it tomorrow and keep the momentum going. You will be astonished how quickly it can come together for you. The feeling of accomplishment is incredible.
